Coplay Councilman Stephen Burker has announced that the borough plans to have a community parade for Penn State football star and Whitehall High School alum Saquon Barkley.

“[Barkley] has been someone this community has followed throughout his football career,” Burker said.

The date is set for March 24.

“We have not worked out all the details,” Burker said. “Security considerations are being worked out. We will have some great speakers. Saquon and his family support the parade.

“This will be a great event to honor this great running back. Everyone is invited,” Burker said.

As additional details are put in place, information will be released to the public.
