Roger R. Billig

Roger R. Billig, 51, of Danville, formerly of Kutztown, died Jan. 20, 2018, from injuries he sustained in a barn fire at his residence.

He and his wife Diane L. (Kunkle) Billig were married 27 years last Sept. 16.

Born May 12, 1966, in Allentown, he was the son of Russell G. Billig and his wife, Margaret A., of New Tripoli and Jean F. (Guth) Masiko and her husband, Joel C., of New Tripoli.

A 1984 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, he owned and operated Red Barn Produce at the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmer’s Market since 1985.

He will forever be remembered for going to great lengths to provide and choose only the fresh-picked seasonal produce for his customers who were like his market family.

He was a member of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, in Milton.

Having a love of nature, he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and lived life with extreme passion and zeal.

Wholeheartedly loving God, family and country, he had a “can do” spirit often accomplishing what others thought impossible.

He was a devoted, caring husband, dad, brother, son and friend whose memory will remain with all those who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by children Caleb J. at home, Isaac J. of White Haven, Rachel M. and Aaron L. at home; brothers Richard A. Billig (Cathy) of Orefield, Ryan J. Billig (Joanna) of Allentown; stepbrothers Michael J. Masiko of New Tripoli, Douglas P. Miller of Frederica, Del.; stepsister Kathleen Masiko of Houston, Texas; and several much loved nieces and nephews.
