Robert R. Goodhart

Robert R. Goodhart, 72, of New Tripoli, formerly of West Virginia, died Jan. 24, 2018, at his home.

He was the son of the late Russell J. and Mildred J. (McFarland) Goodhart.

A metallurgical engineer at National Steel and Weirton Steel in West Virginia and later at ATAS International, Fogelsville, he retired from there in 2015.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-69 during the Vietnam War, having served in Korea.

An avid naturalist, he loved the beauty and wonder of nature, most recently at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.

His survivors include daughters Tracey L., wife of Mark Lemasters, of Moundsville, W.Va. and Amy S. Goodhart of Stroudsburg; siblings Richard J. of Friday Harbor, Wash. and Wenda K. Singer of Richmond, Va., and nine beloved grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association, 1700 Hawk Mountain Road, Kempton, PA 19529 or to a favorite charity of one’s choice.

There will be no formal services. His final wish is for everyone to go to a peaceful place and think kind thoughts.
