Lila Lydia Eyer-Hemerly, 98, of Grant, Mich., died Jan. 23, 2018.
Born June 8, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mamie (Wink) Long of Kempton.
An avid vegetable and flower gardener, her flower gardens were worthy of magazine cover displays.
Very proud of her family’s heritage of military service to her country, she crocheted lap robes for the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans until she was 95.
She loved her cats and rock collection, and was sassy, spunky and stubborn.
She will be greatly missed by her family who adored her.
Her survivors include a son Warren (Delores) Eyer; daughter Phyllis (George) Eyer-Atwood; stepchildren: Earl (Linda) Hemerly, Joyce (Rick) Zapf; stepdaughter-in-law Betty Hemerly; 41 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 45 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband Philip Eyer, her second husband Earl Hemerly, her stepson Gary Hemerly, and her grandson Shawn.
