Scott Alan Miller
Scott Alan “Scooter” Miller, 56, of Allentown, formerly of New York City, N.Y., and Los Angeles, Calif., where he met his partner of 18 years, Carl James Kreft, died Jan. 20, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born in Lebanon, he was a son of the late Joseph H. and Barbara A. (Smith) Miller.
A 1979 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School, where he learned to love tennis, he was extremely proud of his participation in Li’l Abner.
He furthered his education at Alvernia College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in communications.
Employed at J.P. Morgan Chase for 27 years, he was proud of the work he completed and the friendships he established.
A member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg, he loved gardening and decorating his home, especially with his homemade floral decorations.
A staunch fan of Rachel Maddow, he enjoyed Rehoboth Beach, Hilton Head, Broadway, and singing its songs.
In addition to his partner, he is survived by brothers Robert J. (Jennifer), James (Dianne); sisters Nancy (Cindy Gable), Janet Hahnlen (Dave); nieces and nephews Austin, Alyson, Heather Harris (James), Sean (Jasmine), Todd, Patrick Hahnlen (Amanda), Christopher Hahnlen, Nichole Hahnlen, Sarah Centeno (Carlos), Sonia Hahnlen; grandnieces and nephews Gabrielle and McKayla Harris, Jayden and Jayce Miller, Julie Shelton, Addie Hahnlen, Patrick Mitchel, Kara and Clayton Hahnlen, Eden, Judah, Levi and Titus Centeno.
His services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 28 at Stephens Funeral Home Inc. 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Call 1 p.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the funeral home for his memorialization to be decided in the near future.
