Walter R. Weaver Jr.
Walter R. Weaver Jr., 71, of Fogelsville, died on Jan. 11, 2018, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown.
He and his wife Linda J. (Ebeling) Weaver celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary last April.
Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Walter R. and Elizabeth F. (Dologite) Weaver.
He received his Bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and a Master’s degree from Lehigh University.
He taught social studies at the Southern Lehigh Middle School from 1968-98.
He was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Trexlertown.
His passion for automobiles started as a young child and included his beloved 1965 Ford Mustang convertible.
A car salesman for various dealers in the Lehigh Valley, he volunteered at the America on Wheels Museum.
He served on the Saucon Valley School Board for several years and was past president of the Saucon Valley Jaycees.
A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he was involved with the Indian Guides and Princesses at the YMCA.
An avid supporter of all of his children and grandchildren’s sporting events, concerts and recitals, he was always willing to help with the cooking, grocery shopping and caring for his grandchildren.
He enjoyed camping, boating and his family will always cherish their summer vacations, including a six-week cross-country journey.
Very committed to his dogs, he will be missed by his yellow Lab, Scout.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Jason C. and his wife, Tara Weaver, of Allentown; daughter Meg E. Weaver and her husband Ulises Solorzano of Allentown; and grandchildren Alexis, Claire, Daisy, Jonathan and Daniel.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 20 in Stephens Funeral Home Inc. 274 North Krocks Road, Allentown. Call between 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
