Neil A. Pastre, 88, longtime resident of Whitehall, and recent guest of Devon House, Allentown, died peacefully on Dec. 13, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Gio Batta and Rose (Candia) Pastre,
He and his wife Margaret M. “Peg” (Cunningham) Pastre were married 56 years at the time of her death in 2007.
A graduate of Allentown High School and Muhlenberg College in 1950, he served with the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of sergeant in two years, while stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
He returned home and became a programmer and analyst with Bethlehem Steel Corp. for many years before retiring in 1983.
He was a life member of Grouse Hall.
He was very proud of his military service and all the accomplishments of his family.
His survivors include a daughter Mary Beth Arner and her husband, David, of Macungie; son Neil and his wife, Marilyn, of Langhorne; grandchildren Marissa Pastre, Tim Arner, Jeremy Arner and his wife, Alia Orbin, Jocelyn Snyder and her husband, Gregory; and four great-grandchildren.
