Floyd S. Kistler, 89, of New Tripoli, died Dec. 29, 2017, at home.
He and his wife, Lila M. (Kamp) Kistler, who died on Dec. 18, 2017, were married 66 years last June.
Born in Kempton, he was the son of the late Phaon and Mabel (Sechler) Kistler.
A dispatcher for Consolidated Freight for 25 years, he also was a farmer his entire life in Lynn Township.
He was very active in the Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society.
A member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Jerusalem “Red” Church, Kempton, he was in charge of the cemetery for 60 years.
He built floats for 25 years for various local parades as well as the Mummers Parade.
For years, he grew dahlia flower bulbs as well as gladiolus.
His survivors include a daughter, Linda, wife of Guy Bieber of Macungie; son Larry and wife, Susan, of Kempton; grandchildren Adam Bieber, Alyssa Wessner, Katie Hafer and Wyatt Kistler; great-grandchildren Liam Hafer and Monet Becker; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Paul and sisters Evelyn DeWitt and Ruth Hertzog.
Services will be 11 a.m. Jan. 4 at Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Bill Albright officiating.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment in the church cemetery.
