Josephine Ann Slonaker, 87, of Whitehall, died peacefully Dec. 22, 2017, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall in the presence of her family.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Vilma (Gergowicz) Kantz.

She was predeceased by her husband Francis E. Slonaker Sr. who died in 1974.

A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she was a clerk at Hilbert’s Pharmacy and Gifts until the age of 80 when she retired and enjoyed life and her family.

Earlier in life, she worked for GE and Black and Decker, Allentown.

She was a 1948 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Her survivors include sons Francis Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Schnecksville, Thomas and companion, Noreen Schneck, of Whitehall, Michael and wife, Melinda, of Whitehall; daughter Susan Stephens and husband, Paul, of Bethlehem; grandchildren Patricia, wife of Jon Walters, Amy, wife of Andrew Rau, Paul Stephens Jr., Krystah-Jo, wife of Matthew Finn, Josef Stephens and companion, Stacey Jaeger and Piper Slonaker; great-grandson Colby Rau; sister Arlene Joseph; and brother Emil Kantz.

She was predeceased by her sister Margret Schmaldinst; and brothers Edwin and Otto.
