Doris J. “Shadow” Gardner, 92, of Emmaus, died Dec. 20, 2017, in Sacred Heart Senior Living by the Creek, Center Valley. She was the wife of the late Elwood L. Gardner and David R. Searfass. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Mabel R. (Kahle) Kleckner.
She was a cashier for the former Pantry Pride and Food Fair for many years. In her younger years she enjoyed ballroom dancing to the sounds of Big Band music and Frank Sinatra. She was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. She loved a trip to the casinos.
She is survived by a son, John C. and his wife Kim E. Searfass, of Kutztown; daughter, Sandra L. Wolfe, of Allentown; daughter-in-law, Linda Searfass, of Emmaus; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, David W. Searfass in 2015.
