Daniel W. Yankovich Sr.
Daniel W. Yankovich Sr., 87, formerly of Schnecksville, died Dec. 21, 2017, in Sunrise Senior Living of Lower Makefield, Morrisville, Bucks County.
He and his late wife Marilyn M. (Ackerman) Yankovich were married 66 years.
Born Feb. 28, 1930, in Schnecksville, he was the son of the late Charles and Anastasia (Kuraz) Yankovich.
A member of Union Local 420, Pipe and Steamfitters Union, Philadelphia, he worked at the former Air Engineers, a Carrier HVAC supplier, for 40 years before retiring.
During his working tenure, he worked at the Limerick Nuclear Plant with Bechtel Corporation.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War achieving the rank of corporal.
Active in the life of his community, he was a member of the former Vernon G. Kern VFW Post 8344, Schnecksville, and a former member of Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington; a life member, trustee, firefighter, food service worker and water hauler with Community Fire Co. No. 1, Schnecksville; a past nobel grand of Jordan Lodge International Order of Odd Fellows 192, Schnecksville; a member of Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville; and a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fullerton, Whitehall.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
His survivors include a son Daniel W. Jr. and his wife, Veronica, of Richboro; daughter Denise A. Ridenour and her husband, Alan, of McGaheysville, Va.; grandchildren Mark and David Yankovich, Taylor (Kelly) Liberto and Ashlyn Kelly; great-grandsons Carter and Colin Yankovich; step-grandchildren Lauren Ridenour Koch and Ross Ridenour; and step-great-grandchildren Caroline and Charles Koch.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Dec. 28 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Dr. Becky J. Beckwith officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:50 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Odd Fellows service at 10:50 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
