Jacob V. “Jay” Lichty, 82, of Lower Macungie Township, died Dec. 14, 2017, at Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown. He was the husband of Kathryn L. (Reid) Lichty. The couple celebrated 56 years of marriage earlier this year. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Edgar H. and Evelyn J. Lichty.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown.

He was a graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem and the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was employed in the book division at Rodale Press.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Lawrence J. and Mark R.; four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Dec. 21 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 20 in the funeral home.
