Roland J. Dougherty, 98, of Schnecksville, died Dec. 4 2017, in At Home at Parkland.

He was the husband of the late Catharine A. (Goodman) Dougherty.

Born Jan. 22, 1919, in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late John E. and Ethel (Guldner) Dougherty.

He faithfully and honorably served his county in the U.S. Army during World War II.

An accountant for the former Fuller Co., Catasauqua, for 40 years, he retired in 1979 as assistant treasurer.

He was a member of the former Vernon G. Kern VFW Post 8344.

His survivors include children Ann C. Heiser and her husband, Robert, of Schnecksville, James R. and his wife, Priscilla, of Slatington, John C. of Kutztown, Jane L. Wehr and her husband, Bruce, of Germansville, Christine C. Steele of Schnecksville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Mushrush.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm. Dec. 12 in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Mark E. Swanson officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 12:30-1:30 pm. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
