Kent Chattin

Kent Chattin, 85, of New Tripoli, died on Nov. 27, 2017.

Born on Jan. 9, 1932, in Morristown, N.J., he was the son of the late Laurie and Catherine (Cuthbertson) Chattin.

His family moved to Weisenberg Township in 1945, and he graduated from Parkland High School in 1951.

He and his twin brother, Bruce, helped manage the sizable family farm which operated as a large dairy operation for many years.

The farm produced a variety of crops, raised many livestock, including goats and sheep and continues to be the hub of many family activities including 72 consecutive years of family reunions.

He loved the outdoors, had a passion for gardening, was very skilled at building rock walls and Koi ponds.

He was an avid hunter, loved to cook and enjoyed watching professional sports, especially New York Yankees baseball and Philadelphia Eagles football.

He is survived by his brother Donald Sr. and wife, Marie, of Topton; sister Barbara Fuller of Colorado Springs, Colo.; twin brother, Bruce of New Tripoli; sister, Sandra Monroe and husband Richard of Littleton, N.H.; numerous cousins; nieces; nephews; and many caring friends and neighbors.

He was predeceased by his brothers Laurie and Richard.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
