Robert C. Schillinger

Robert C. Schillinger, 87, formerly of Schnecksville, died Nov. 20, 2017, in The Lutheran Home at Topton.

He and his late wife Carol W. (Klinger) Schillinger were married 67 years.

Born May 2, 1930, in Danville, Montour County, he was the son of the late Otto and Amelia (Ledger) Schillinger.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

A member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers Local 13, he was employed by the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation during his 40-year career as a boilermaker.

He was a member of the NRA and the Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville.

He loved football and was on the original coaching staff of North Parkland Youth Athletic Association’s first football team.

His survivors include a daughter Lynn C. Cronomiz and her husband, Dave, of Morgantown; son Chris R. and his wife, Denise, of Fogelsville; sister Ruth T. Scholl of Fairfax, Va.; grandchildren Joel, Curt, Amilee, Scott, Erin, Kevin and Brett; and great-grandchildren Reese, Kinsley, Brock, Lia, Luke, Isabella and Jase.

He was predeceased by siblings Willard, Bertha, Elmer, Carl and Paul.
