Jack A. Parmer

Jack A. Parmer, 86, formerly of Trexlertown, died Nov. 25, 2017, in The Lutheran Home of Topton.

He was the husband of the late June E. (Stolp) Parmer who died in 2002.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Herbert H. and Florence R. (Coulter) Parmer.

An account executive for Bell of Pennsylvania, AT&T and Verizon for 35 years, he retired in 1990.

His accounts included Mack Trucks, Hess’s, Bethlehem Steel and several local hospitals.

He was instrumental in implementing the statewide 911 system.

He was an extensive volunteer for Trexlertown Park and Playground Association, Bob Rodale Cycling Park and Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Lehigh Valley Velodrome).

Past president of the Velodrome Commission, he operated the Velodrome concession stand for decades.

He served on the Upper Macungie Zoning Board and received numerous honors for his extensive service to Lehigh County.

A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, he was past president of the building committee.He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

His survivors include sons Lincoln S. and his wife, Deborah Rosenberg; Mark F. and his wife, Suzanne; daughter Rebecca L., wife of Keith Theodore; grandchildren Elizabeth, Krystal, Kristopher and Nicholas; and great-grandsons Luke and Jack.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Deborah, five brothers and one sister.Donations in his memory may be made to the church endowment fund.
