Betty Jane Parry, 89, died Nov. 16, 2017, in her New Tripoli home.

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Emily (Wolfe) Wendel.

A graduate of Hazleton High School, she was a PAL swimming instructor for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing.

She also loved her church and enjoyed lending a helping hand.

In addition, she loved music and fostered the love of music in her children and grandchildren.

She was happiest being surrounded by her loving family.

Her survivors include daughters Susan Cannon and her husband, John, of Lewes, Del., Gail Parry of New Tripoli, and Judith Brown and her husband, John, of Westborough, Mass.; and granddaughters Emily and Jennifer Brown of Westborough, Mass.

She was predeceased by her husband George in 2002, her twin sister Dorothy Eroh in 2017, her brother Robert Wendel in 1984, and her daughter Jayne Ellen Parry in 1962.

Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Dec. 2 at First Presbyterian Church, 3231 Tilghman St., Allentown, PA 18104.

Visitation will be 10:30-11 a.m. Interment will be private.
