Audrey B. “Mammy” Helfrich, 81, of Slatington, died Nov. 21, 2017, in Palmerton Hospital.

She and her husband Gerald L. Helfrich were married 63 years.

Born Dec. 18, 1935, in Zionsville, she was the daughter of the late Curtis R. and Florence (Kleinsmith) Charles.

Before she became a mother, she was a bookkeeper at the former Merchant’s Bank, Allentown for several years.

She was a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 54, Woodlawn, South Whitehall.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rebecca L. Snyder and her husband, Richard, of New Tripoli; siblings Bruce R. Charles and his wife, Carol, of Catasauqua, Irene Batt of Florida; grandchildren William, Tonya and Daniel; and great-grandchildren Lauren, Jared, Hannah, Kailey, Ethan, Isabelle, Ella Rae, Madeline and Dylan.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Lori A. Brocious.
