James A. Snyder, 83, of Orefield, died Nov. 9, 2017, in At Home at Parkland nursing home, Schnecksville.
He was the husband of the late Myra J. (Williamson) Snyder.
Born March 2, 1934, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late James and Grace C. (Anderson) Snyder.
Retired from the Salisbury Township Public Works Department, he most recently worked for the township recycling center.
Before that, he owned and operated a roofing and construction company.
An avid hunter and gun collector, he was a member of the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli, and the NRA.
His survivors include daughters Diane S. McAllister and her husband, Rick, of Orefield, Patti A. Hudock and her husband, Dave, of Orefield; sisters Veronica Gorzelic of Hellertown, Patricia Ballek of Schnecksville; and grandchildren J.R. and Jason McAllister, Joe, Abby and Scott Hudock.
He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Herzog.
His memorial service will be 11 a.m. Nov. 20 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Mark E. Swanson officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
