Hugh P. O’Donnell, 75, of New Tripoli, died Oct. 29, 2017, at home.
He and his wife Judith A. (Rutz) O’Donnell were married 47 years in June.
Born in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Hugh J. and Agnes (Ginner) O’Donnell.
A postal worker at the Lehigh Valley Distribution Center for 20 years, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as part of the U.S. Special Forces, also known as the Green Berets.
He was a lifetime member of the Special Operations Association the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, VFW Post 2124, and the Air Force Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Jennifer Shuhay and husband, Joseph, of New Tripoli, Heather O’Donnell of New Tripoli, and Mary Sell and husband, Ted, of Bethlehem; brother James and wife, Juanita, of Wilkes-Barre; sister Noreen Weikel of Alburtis; sister-in-law Dolores O’Donnell of Coopersburg; grandchildren Ethan, Patrick, Grace, Lillian, Sophia, Allison and Matthew; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Danny.
