Esther A. Kunkel

Esther A. Kunkel, 95, formerly of Kempton and New Tripoli, died Oct. 21, 2017 in Cedarbrook, South Whitehall.

Born Oct. 3, 1922, in Weisenberg Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Florence (Christman) Snyder and the wife of the late Wayne H. Kunkel who died in 1990.

She was the oldest member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Seiberlingsville, Kempton, where she formerly was with the choir for many years.

She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing the piano, embroidery, playing pinochle, traveling and sharing stories of her life. Her survivors include a daughter Diane E., wife of Fred Folland of Germansville; granddaughters Amanda (Jake) Ostrusky, Kelly K. (Darryl) Mills, Victoria Kunkel (Tim Foster) and Tracy (Christopher) Hunt; and great-grandchildren Tevin, Beth and Karlee.

She was predeceased by sons, Kenneth W. in 2013, Henry C.L. in 2014; brother Sterling S. Snyder and an infant sister Mildred.
