Dorothy M. Williams, 72, of Birdsboro, died Oct. 18, 2017, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading.

She was the widow of James D. Williams.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Dorothy M. Schmidt.

She graduated with top honors from Hagerstown Community College as a registered nurse and worked for Lutheran Home Care and Chambersburg Hospital.

She was a member of the Katahdin Ladies Club of Maine, where she was the past treasurer.

Her survivors include a daughter Julie Lara and husband, Abel, with whom she resided; son James and wife, Gabi, of Lancaster; sister Georgia Beichler and husband, Raymond, of Fallston, Md.; grandchildren Jessica and Abel D. Lara, Pierce Williams and Dinah Moyer; great-grandchildren Nathaniel Lara and Neil Moyer; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister Patricia Schmidt.
