Carl W. Koch

Carl W. Koch, 66, of Allentown, died Oc. 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family in Jeanes Hospital, Philadelphia.

He and his wife Joan M. (Rebarchak) Koch were married 37 years on Aug. 2.

Born April 17, 1951, in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Harold J. and Arlene K. (Leuthold) Koch.

He graduated from Susquehanna Township High School, suburban Harrisburg, and Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degreein math education and computer science.

While at PSU, he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and played the baritone in the Blue Band.

He was an information technology specialist at Air Products and Chemicals Inc., Trexlertown, for 30 years before retiring in 2010.

A member of the Federation of Musicians, Local 45, Lehigh Valley, he was a former member of the Pioneer Band, Allentown, Hackettstown Community Band, Easton Municipal Band and the Hazleton Liberty Band.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

An avid runner, he was a fan of the Philadelphia and Penn State sports teams.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter Rebecca A. Koch of New York City, N.Y.; son John H. Koch of Bowling Green, Ohio; brother Harry E. Koch and his wife, Carole, of Allentown; sister, Alice K. Cromwell and her husband, Kenneth,and of Centre Hall.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Oct.26 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield.

The Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Wargo will serve as celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:20 a.m. Thursday in the church.

Private interment will follow the Mass at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Cemetery, Berwick.
