Richard Edwin Danner, 84, of East Texas, died Oct. 11, 2017.

He and his wife Emily A. (Lehr) Danner were married 62 years in March.

Born in East Texas, he was a son of the late Edwin and Viola (Litzenberger) Danner.

He was a sheet metal worker for more than 50 years with Union Local 19.

He was a member and former church council president of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Breinigsville, past president of Lower Lehigh Lions Club, past president of East Texas Playground Association and a former superintendent of East Texas Sunday School.

He also was a member of Lehigh County and Lower Macungie fire police and served on the board of St. Paul’s Cemetery, Trexlertown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Richard and his wife, Dori, of Hillsgrove, Jeffrey and his wife, Gladys, of Arizona, and Mark and his wife, Petra, in Germany; brother Ralph and his wife, Judy, of East Texas; grandchildren Justin, Lisa, Nina and Kailee; and great-grandchildren Natalie, RJ, Sage and Mackenzie.
