Jeffrey C. Frey, 59, of Orefield, formerly of Leesport, died Oct. 2, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Born April 22, 1958, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Dolores G. (Metzger) Frey.

A 1976 graduate of Parkland High School, he graduated in 1980 from Penn State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.

He was an engineer with UGI Utilities from 1980-2014.

An avid bowler, he participated in the Berks Lanes Bowling League for many years, and he loved hiking nature trails.

His survivors include children Tara J. Frey of Hamburg, Laura B. Frey of Lititz, and Christopher M. Frey of Leesport; grandson Austin A. Roerig of Hamburg; companion Tara E. Leach of Orefield; sister Susan M. Pavelko of Bethlehem; and nieces Carlene and Bridget.
