The following local students earned Merit Scholarships to attend Alvernia University this fall:
Allentown: Gregory Atlas, Parkland High School, earned the Trustees’ Scholarship to study nursing; Rebecca Fuehrer, Bethlehem Catholic High School, earned the Trustees’ Scholarship to study psychology; Kishan Modessa, Parkland High School, earned the Veronica Founder’s Scholarship to study health-care science; Riley Tremblay, Parkland High School, earned the Presidential Scholarship to study biology.
Kutztown: Kristina Bertsch of Kempton, Kutztown Area High School, earned the Shirley and Joseph Boscov Scholarship to study nursing; Melea Barahona of Kutztown, Kutztown Area High School, earned the Presidential Scholarship to study biochemistry; Benjamin Fenstermaker, Northwestern Lehigh High School, earned the Presidential Scholarship to study health-care science; Anna Grayek, Fleetwood Area High School, earned the Presidential Scholarship to study forensic science; Joshua Mengel, Kutztown Area High School, earned the Presidential Scholarship to study environmental biochemistry.
New Tripoli: Natalie Axt, Northwestern Lehigh High School, earned the Presidential Scholarship to study marketing.
Schnecksville: Kaitlin Jackson, Parkland High School, earned the Veronica Founder’s Scholarship.
