The Emmaus boys and girls cross country teams had a solid showing last week in EPC competition.
The girls (5-1) won all three of its races last Wednesday against Pleasant Valley (15-50), Pocono Mountain East (15-48) and Pocono Mountain West (15-50). The boys (3-3) picked up convincing victories over Pocono Mountain East (17-45) and Pocono Mountain West (15-50), while coming up short against Pleasant Valley (27-30).
Abigail Dalton finished first in a time of 21:06 at Whitehall’s home course, over a minute faster than the next finisher, which happened to be her teammate Keira Reinhard (22:18). Amanda Lavana (4th, 22:36), Clara Kennedy (5th, 23:32), Marlo Guastella (10th, 24:15) and Marley Wait (15th, 25:19) rounded out the top 15 finishers.
Jake Brown was the second boy to cross the finish line, clocking a time of 18:28. His teammates--Mason Brown (5th, 18:58) and Charlie Norelli (6th, 19:05)--followed closely behind. Keshav Shankari (10th, 19:23), Mark Magee (11th, 19:28), Tristan Schmidt (12th, 19:32) and Ian Cox (14th, 19:48) all placed in the top 15.
