Richard N. Shoemaker, 56, of Kunkletown, formerly of Slatington, died Sept. 17, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Katyjo L. (Dottery) Shoemaker were married 13 years.

Born Nov. 7, 1960, in Allentown, he was the son of Russell L. Sr. and Virginia D. (Marshburn) Shoemaker.

A 1979 graduate of Parkland High School, he was a security guard for several security companies in the Lehigh Valley before retiring.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by children Anthony Shoemaker, Heather Dottery, Trevor Dottery, USMC, Tylor Lenskold and Tanner Lenskold; and a brother, Russell L. Shoemaker Jr.
