Bonnie Ray Merkel, 72, of Whitehall, died Sept. 8, 2017.

She and her husband Craig Merkel Sr. were married 53 years.

A past president of Whitehall Woman’s Club, she was an active Sunday School teacher.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Jessie and her husband, Jim, and Stephanie and her husband, Bill; son Craig Jr. and his wife Tina; grandchildren Megan, Ashley, Brittini, Buddy and Lexi; great-grandchildren Aiden, Kolton and Blake; sisters, Elenor of El Paso, Texas; Linda of Lake Wallenpaupack, April of Fogelsville and Barbara of Las Vegas, Nev.; and brothers, Robert of Allentown, Willis of Catasauqua and Benjamin of Easton.
