Frances Ruth Fritz, 89, loving mother, grandmother and faithful servant, went to be with the Lord Aug. 29, 2017.

All were blessed by her hospitality, warmth, genuine care and compassion. She was the rock of the family; always keeping her friends and family in prayer.

She loved unconditionally and was exceedingly wise.

Daughter of the late Wilbur Wieder, former Allentown assistant fire chief, and Isabella (Radeline), she spoke lovingly of her parents and brothers.

A graduate of William Allen High School, she met husband Robert Fritz at a YMCA dance. They were happily married for 57 years.

A devoted member of Dubbs Memorial UCC for 87 years, she worked at General Electric, Hess’s and Bon-ton as the manager of the men’s department and Lutron Electronics.

An avid Philadelphia sports fan, she loved football parties, card games, and girls’ vacations at the beach.

Her children and grandchildren want to live with the same spirit of joyfulness, laughter, generosity and a love for family and God.

Her survivors include daughters Sally Smith, Patricia DallaPiazza and husband, Lee; Lois Stirba and husband, Alfred III; son Robert Fritz and wife, Kim; son-in-law Nicholas Capuano; brother Richard Wieder and wife, Annie; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert, daughter Mary Capuano, and brothers Jim and Martin Wieder.
