Whitehall Fire Department will hold a ceremony Sept. 9 in recognition of the new firetruck serving the West Catasauqua area.

A wash down - a department tradition - will begin 3 p.m. at 2008 Second Ave. The 2017 Pierce Puck vehicle will be sprayed by the replaced vehicle, a 1988 Hahn. Those in attendance at the event will then be asked to help dry the new truck.

Department volunteers will push the firetruck in the bay, officially placing it in service.
