Eleanor A. Snyder
Eleanor A. Snyder, 89, of New Tripoli, died Aug. 27, 2017, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall.
She was the wife of Lester C. Snyder, who died in 2007.
Born in New Tripoli, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret (Howerter) Fister.
She was a folder for the former Wrights Manufacturing Co., Hamburg, for 28 years before retiring in 1979.
She was also a co-owner, along with her husband, of Snyder Trucking Co., New Tripoli, until retirement.
She was a faithful member of New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Tripoli, where she served on the church Helping Hands committee and the mission team.
An honorary member and EMT for the former Northwestern Ambulance Corps, she also taught classes in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
A member of the New Tripoli Fire Co., she was formerly in charge of the kitchen for more than 60 years.
She was also a member of the Lynnport Fire Company.
Her survivors include a daughter Judith A., wife of Kerry L. Freeby of Alburtis; son Dennis L. (Donna L.) Snyder; and a sister Alma C. Koch, all of New Tripoli; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and her loving dog Tiny.
She was predeceased by brothers Paul, George, Ralph and William Fister.
Her memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sept. 9 in New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6804 Weiss Road, New Tripoli, with a visitation period beginning 1 p.m.
