Dean K. Lakatosh Sr.

Dean K. Lakatosh, Sr., 83, from Neffs, died on Aug. 25, 2017, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

He and his wife Nancy A. (Balliet) Lakatosh were married 61 years.

Born March 7, 1934, in Slatington, he was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Cora M. (Valora) Lakatosh.

He was an assembly line worker at Mack Trucks Inc., Macungie, for 25 years before retiring in 1990.

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1954, he dedicated much of his life to playing and coaching baseball, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, frequently visiting his cabin in Potter County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Dean Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Northampton, Lee and his wife, Patti, of Whitehall, Lori Hock and her husband, Robert, of Walnutport; brothers Edward Sr. of Iowa, Dale Sr. of Walnutport, Denton and David Sr. both of Schnecksville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert.

His service will be private. There will be no calling hours.
