Catherine A. Witczak, 89, a longtime resident of Fullerton, Whitehall Township, died peacefully Aug. 21, 2017, in Fellowship Community.
She and her husband Leo R. Witczak were married 66 years.
Born in Cementon, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Salovay) Turbedsky.
A member of Ss Peter and Paul Polish Catholic Church, Allentown, she enjoyed making pierogies there and was active in children’s activities and education,
She was a volunteer Girl Scout leader earlier in life.
A very proud 1946 graduate of Whitehall High School, she was a 1949 graduate of Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.
She enjoyed gathering with her classmates monthly since their graduation.
She worked in the emergency and operating rooms at the former Allentown General Hospital, and was an obstetrics nurse for Dr. Michael Vigilante and Allen OB-GYN Associates for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Dr. Loretta Witczak Keil and her husband, Bruce, of Allentown; sons Jesse and his wife, Pamela, of Maryland, Joseph and wife, Charlene, of Washington; grandchildren Bonni Taylor (Sache), Deanna Keil (Daniel), Garrett Witczak, Alyssa Keil, Lynea Oldfather (William), Michael Nelson, and Devon and Christopher Witczak; and sister-in-law Betty Turbedsky of Allentown.
She was predeceased on March 9, 2010, by her brother Paul J. Turbedsky.
