Larry R. Leiby, 78, of Slatington, formerly of Tampa, Fla., died Aug. 16, 2017, in his home.

He was the companion of Sandra J. (Schlegel) Kien for 43 years.

Born Aug. 7, 1939, in Palmerton, Carbon County, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Mildred E. (Smith) Leiby.

A 1957 graduate of the former Slatington High School, he owned and operated the former L&S Drapery, Tampa, for many years before retiring.

Before that, he was a cabinet maker in Allentown.

In addition to his companion, he is survived by children Larry R. II, Todd L., Debra D., David E., and Wendy J. Cabrera; stepsons Hal Grahn Jr. and Mark Kien; sister June Kern; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Paul M.
