Wendy G. Brantley

Wendy G. Brantley has died.

Born on Feb. 10, 1959, she was the daughter of Elsie Quinn.

A graduate of Dieruff high school, Allentown, she went to Florida A.M. University, worked for the City of Allentown as a meter maid, then the parks department.

She worked for the police department, which she called the love of her life, until she went to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

This job she wouldn’t trade for anything.

She also had a full-time job as security guard for the Allentown School District and two part-time jobs, one as a police officer for Catasauqua Police Department, the other at Lafayette College.

Having a passion for children, she received three awards for working with children.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister Marie Deeds of Allentown; brothers Theodore (Ann) of Lock Haven, Edward (Donna) of Plains, and Roderick Brantley (Deidre) of Bethlehem; uncle; aunts; wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Service will be 11 a.m. Aug. 17 in Union Baptist Church, 302 N. 6th St., Allentown, with the Rev. Nathaniel Jenkins and the Rev. Earl A. Cary officiating.

Visitation with family will begin 9 a.m. in the church.

Interment with police department honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, 15th and Roth Avenue, Allentown.
