Jean F. Dietrich
Jean F. Dietrich, 83, died Aug. 9, 2017, in her home, surrounded by her family.
She and her husband Wayne W. Dietrich, who died in December 2014, celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Born in Hamburg, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Fannie F. (Reppert) Miller.
A 1952 graduate of Perry High School, Shoemakersville, she obtained a beautician’s license, which she held for many years.
She was exposed to dairy farm life in her early married years and later, in addition to raising her family, was employed at various businesses, last at Max’s Thriftway Supermarket, Kutztown.
Her hobbies included flower gardening, which she loved, cooking and baking traditional Pennsylvania Dutch foods, and shopping.
She loved her family and friends.
A devoted member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Krumsville, she participated in many church activities for more than 40 years.
Her survivors include sons Stephen W. Dietrich of Bernville, and Kerry L. Dietrich and his companion, Gary G. Gilbert of East Greenville; sisters Arlene Leese of Reading, and Carolyn Balthaser, wife of J. Paul Balthaser of Bernville; brother Nevin Miller, husband of Arlene, Fleetwood; numerous nieces and nephews; and her four-legged feline companion Lexie.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings Harold Miller, Miriam Evangelista, Pauline Klee and Donald Miller.
