Ruth E. Schneck, 85, of Slatington, died Aug. 4, 2017, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

She and her husband David G. Schneck were married 67 years last April 9.

Born Sept. 1, 1931, in Lynn Township, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Minerva (Sechler) Bleiler.

She was a teacher’s aide for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, Schnecksville, for 17 years before retiring in 1997.

Additionally, she was co-owner of Stor-Mor Self Storage, Washington Township, for 31 years.

She also assisted her husband in operation of their family farm.

A member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, she will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband; children, Anne L. Zagarella of Slatington, Cindy S. Paules and her husband, John of Cranberry Township, Dennis D. Schneck and his wife, Maureen of Slatington, and Susan D. Schneck and her husband, Michael P. Schleinkofer of Carlisle; grandchildren, Salvatore D. Zagarella, Stephanie Z. Delich and Nicholas M. Schleinkofer; great-grandchildren Santo, Evelyn and Idania.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Aug. 10 at Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Mark E. Swanson officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church narthex.

Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
