George L. Carl, 83, of Trexlertown, died Aug. 3, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

He and his wife Shirley F. (Thomas) Carl celebrated 64 years of marriage on July 25.

Born in Trexlertown, he was a son of the late Morris and Elda (Johnson) Carl.

Before retiring in 1986 he worked at Owen Bastian Flooring for many years and previously for Hackman’s Flooring.

He was a member of Goodwill Fire Company No. 1, Trexlertown, Delaware River Shad Fishermen’s Association and Macungie Minstrelaires.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Bruce L. and wife, Kathy, of Florida; David B. and wife, Jeannie, of Jim Thorpe; James R., of New Tripoli; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren
