Patricia “Patsy” (Connolly) Bishop, 83, of Kutztown, formerly of Old Bridge, N.J., and Sumter, S.C., died July 28, 2017, surrounded by family.

Her life was devoted to the care and nurturing of family, friends and those in need and her career as a licensed practical nurse came naturally to her, as she was a devout member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

As an artist uses a brush to paint a work of exceptional beauty, she used her patience, tenderness, compassion, wisdom and understanding to raise six children with her husband, Tom, of 63 years.

Her work of art is what we typically refer to simply as our family.

To Mom, it was and always will be family that she enjoyed most in life.

Her survivors include her husband, Tom Bishop of Kutztown; sons Tom Bishop and wife, Barbara, of Arizona, Kevin Bishop and wife, Lori of Maine, Tim Bishop and wife, Elise, of Florida, Stephen Bishop and wife, Donna, of New Jersey, James Bishop and wife, Ruth of Virginia, and daughter Patricia Murphy and her husband, Ed, of Pennsylvania; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother retired Capt. George S. Connolly and wife Beverly of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
