Michael J. Stoudt Sr.

Michael J. Stoudt Sr., 72, of Orefield, died on July 31, 2017, at home.

He and his wife, Dawn E. (Walker) Stoudt, would have been married for 53 years in October.

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was a son of the late Russell F. and Roberta (Holveck) Stoudt.

He worked in the insurance business for 30 years before retiring in 2003.

Before that, he was a barber from 1964-73.

He coached baseball for the Junior Legion, North Parkland Athletic Association and Schnecksville Baseball Organization and also was a referee for PIAA basketball for many years.

Additionally, he loved Parkland sports, both high school and youth.

He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in football, softball, cross-country and basketball.

He was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield.

His family members were constant companions during his recent battle with his illness. His wife never left his side.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Michael Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Allentown, Rod A. and wife, Leandra, of Schnecksville; daughter Michelle L. Brader of Orefield; brothers Terry of Orefield, Timm and wife, Nancy, of Allentown, Scott of Chester, S.C.; sisters Karen Mengel and husband, Richard, of Germansville, Vicki Trexler of New Tripoli; grandchildren Nicholas, Devon, Mikayla and Dylan; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 3 at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield, with the Rev. Jerel Gade officiating.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield, PA 18069.
