Christina May Gunderson, 70, of Topton, formerly of Oakfield, N.Y., died June 28, 2017, in St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem.

She was the widow of Thomas Gunderson.

Born in Batavia, N.Y. she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Inez (Webster) Carpenter.

She was a medical secretary for various offices for many years and was an EMT in Oakfield for 24 years.

Her survivors include sons Mark (Crystal) Birch of Macungie, and Norman (Tammi) Birch of Oakfield; daughter Beth (Martin) Synakowski of Chesapeake, Va., the children’s father, Willis Birch; brothers James Carpenter of Concord, N.C. and Scott Carpenter of Hiram, Ga.; sisters Linda Hazel of West Barre, N.Y. and Nancy Cabrera of North Port, Fla.; grandchildren Brandon Birch, Kristen Ace and Dawn Synakowski; great-granddaughter Keigan Ace; nieces and nephews.
