UGI Energy Services has donated $10,000 to Lehigh Children’s Academy, a service of Via, towards scholarships through the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit program.

Lehigh Children’s Academy, a service of Via of the Lehigh Valley, provides high quality, nurturing care and education for young children ages six weeks to six years, and provides before and after school care for school age children.

Via’s OSTC program provides scholarships to students for pre-K and kindergarten who have an annual household income up to $109,000 and live within the attendance boundaries of a low-achieving school as determined by the Department of Education. Via’s EITC programs provide scholarships to students for Pre-K and Kindergarten who have an annual household income of up to $109,000.

Established in 2001 and administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs award tax credits to businesses that make contributions to approved Educational Improvement Scholarship Organizations, Pre-K Scholarship Organizations and Opportunity Scholarship Organizations.
