John W. Crisp

John W. Crisp, 83, of Macungie, died June 3, 2017. He was the loving husband of almost 63 years to Marjorie A. (All) Crisp. Born in Evansville, Ind., he was the son of the late John G. and Marion (Jagler) Crisp.

He graduated from the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in electrical engineering and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He completed one year of post graduate studies at MIT.

His career at Western Electric/AT&T, which spanned 27 years, brought him to many states from coast to coast, settling in Macungie in 1977.

He was a peacetime Army veteran.

He loved to travel, take long walks, cheer on the Green Bay Packers and Indiana University basketball and he enjoyed an ice cold Miller Lite.

He is survived by his wife; son, Cary and his wife Elizabeth, of Dublin, Ireland; daughters, Catherine and her husband Douglas Wells, of Hickory, N.C.; Amy and her husband James Wagner, of Berkeley Heights, N.J.; Julie, and her husband Charles Kernan, of Baltimore, Md.; and Jodey and her husband Matthew Conway, of Allentown; brother, Robert A., of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and six granddogs.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank, 245 N. 6th St., Allentown, 18102.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held noon June 7 in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. A calling hour will be held 11 a.m. to noon in the church. Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
