Whitehall Township police stand outside the home of Magisterial District Judge Robert C. Halal, who was found dead there Monday afternoon. Emergency responders were called to the residence, in the 4800 block of Main Street in Egypt, about 2:30 p.m. Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Richard Pender pronounced Halal, 52, dead just after 4 p.m. An autopsy Tuesday ruled the death a suicide.
