The Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup baseball franchise will be holding tryouts again during the month of May in lead up to the tournament opener on June 15 against Jersey Shore (NJ) at FDR Park.

Tryouts will take place on May 21 and 28 at DeSales University from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

Area players from grades 9-12 are eligible to participate in tryouts, with the roster permitting 10 seniors, filled out by underclassmen.

The Lehigh Valley team won the championship in 1998, 2001 and 2011. LV was also in the title game in 2008 and 2013. The semis and championship game are at Citizens Bank Park.

This year’s championship is set for June 24.

Last year’s team reached the quarterfinals, but lost 6-4 to Suburban One American/Continental.
