Wilbur C. Schlier Sr., 89, of Allentown, died April 19, 2017, at his home. He was the husband of the late Kathleen (Bauer) Schlier.

Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Vernon and Ella (Dotter) Schlier Sr.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and of the Korean War, where he was serving together with his brothers. He also served in the National Guard.

He was a die machine operator at Fairtex Mills for many years.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Catasauqua.

He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey A. and Wilbur C. Jr. and his wife Deborah; three daughters, Gail Randis, Kathy MacKewen and Sherry Creyer; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
