Volunteer meetings in the afternoon and evening of April 5 signaled that preparations are underway for the 2017 Boutique at the Rink cancer fundraiser. The annual event, which supported the St. Luke’s Cancer Center, St. Luke’s Hospice and the Cancer Support Community to the tune of $231,000 in 2016, will begin accepting donations May 1 until May 19 at the Earl E. Schaffer Municipal Ice Rink, located at 345 Illick’s Mill Road. Hours for donation drop-offs are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
New and gently used antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing and accessories, men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and shoes, lingerie, jewelry, babies’ items, toys, linens, small appliances, games and sports equipment are accepted.
Sales days are Premiere Night May 30 from 4 to 9 p.m. ($10 entry fee), full price day on May 31 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., half-price day on June 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and bag day on June 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Co-chairs in 2017 are Karen Hein, Nicole Muraro and Jane Schaffer.
