Liberty’s number two doubles tennis team of Luke Conrad and David Lynn have advanced to the final of the East Penn Conference Tennis Tournament which will be continued at a time to be determined after being postponed because of rain last Saturday at Freedom High School.
Conrad and Lynn will face Parkland’s Kishan Unjia and Jesse Hence.
“I think it will be a challenge,” said Lynn. “Hopefully, we will do our best and go out and win. Our serves have been good all season. A lot of times, if we’re winning big, [Coach Leo Schnalzer] doesn’t go too deep with coaching.”
Conrad and Lynn had been winning big all weekend, with 8-0 victories over Allen’s Josiah Stuart and Ngun Thawn, and Easton’s Thomas Berg and Dominic Viscomi, and a 10-1 victory over Nazareth’s Matt Soika and Dominic Ferraro.
Liberty’s number three doubles team of Duke Jin and Gavin Snyder are also still alive in the EPC tournament.
Jin and Snyder defeated Easton’s Evan Gerlach and Neal Gilbert 8-2, and Pleasant Valley’s Tyler Fahrenkopf and Brian Kagel (score unavailable).
At number four doubles, Liberty’s Marc Burritt and Jacob Wong lost their semifinal match against Parkland’s Sam Zahn and Jonah Grob after the Hurricane pair defeated Pocono Mountain West’s Sean Kennedy and Ethan Feliciano 8-0, and Northampton’s Dan Fox and Nick Hudak 8-3.
