Kramer announces candidacy for Whitehall board position

Kerry Scott Kramer has announced he is a candidate for Whitehall Township commissioner on the May 16 primary election ballot.

Kramer said he will be “the people’s commissioner.”

Mentioning he will work to meet the township residents, Kramer said, if elected, he would like to organize free summer concerts, once a month, at Jefferson Park, Fullerton. He also wants to install signage at the Fullerton recreation area.

He said he wants to change the lettering on township equipment, adding “big letters on each piece that says exactly what department it belongs to.”

“I am running on the ‘blue-collar ticket,’” Kramer said. “I will be available 100 percent of the time to our taxpayers.”

A 1972 graduate of Pennridge High School, Kramer enrolled at Upper Bucks Technical School and earned his machinist certificate. He is a tool and die machinist with journeyman papers.

He retired two years ago after 15 years as a bus driver for Trans Bridge Bus Lines.

Kramer served as a volunteer with the Perkasie Fire & Rescue and was an EMT for 10 years.

He served on the township committee for the new Whitehall Township senior center at West Catasauqua Park.

Kramer has a grown daughter, who resides in Bethlehem.
